Smoked Salmon Salsa (Diet) Pizza

I like salsa, smoke salmon and thin crust pizza. It is very refreshing when you put in your mouth. Came up with smoked salmon salsa pizza because of these likes and partly I will like to try my hand in making my own pizza crust.
Pizza Crust
  • 600g of bread flour
  • 2 tsp dried yeast
  • 350ml of water
  • 1.5 tsp of salt
Put the yeast in the water and use it after 5 minutes. Meanwhile mix the salt into the flour. I use a kitchenaid mixer which is very convenient. Use dough hook for mixing. Use low speed for mixing. Start mixing and pour the yeasted water into the flour. As you mix, the dough will climb up the hook, stop the machine and push it down, and continue. Mix for 10 minutes. A dough will form gradually. After that, just place the dough in a well oiled clean bowl. Cover with a clean cloth or cling-wrap. Let it rise for 1.5 hr. It will rise untill doubled in size.

While waiting for the dough to rise, you can prepare the topping first.

Tomato salsa (1 pizza only)
  • 1 ripe tomato, diced
  • 1 small red onion. finely sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed and minced
  • 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
Let it rest for 10 to 15 min.

Pre-heat the oven 240°C

After the dough risen, knock the dough back by pressing it down with your fist and knead on a floured surface for around 5 min. Divide the dough to 4 to 5 equal parts. Roll the dough to the size of a pizza crust. Pizza do not have to be prefectly round. ( I like the rustic shape pizza)

Before putting the topping, you need to bake the pizza dough first. Place it in the pre-heated oven for 10-15 mins.

After that, you can spread the salsa and the dressing on the pizza first and put the smoked salmon pieces on top of the salmon topping. No cheese and cooking is needed. I will squeeze lemon wedge over before eating. Trust me you will like it and did I say, it is not fattening as there is no cheese:)

Enjoy!!
